Nadine Dorries is on HIGNFY tonight which should be fun for everyone whether they love her or hate her. As she left the after party she tweeted this:
And a bunch of people got on her case along the lines of “Oh she wants to shoot him for talking to her daughter because he’s black.”
Idiots.
Being in some small way sane my first thought was shotgun WEDDING. Which I very much suspect was what she meant.
Who could ever want to shoot Reggie? The man is comedy personified. He’s like a funny American John Cleese (the true God of comedy). I almost died of laughter, literally (literally literally, not figuratively literally), while watching his latest dvd, which I actually paid for rather than downloading it illegally off the interweb. Don’t have a beverage while watching him unless you want to see liquids spurting out of your nose.
There’s enough, more than enough, actual racism in the world without half wits finding it where there is none.
Which brings me, slightly obliquely to Zelo. Tim Fenton blogging as Zelo Street (God alone knows why) is entertaining in his own “Hate the Telegraph, Boris Johnson and the Mail” kind of way, but I’m at a loss to understand why he got on the case of the Telegraph when they decided discretion was the better part of valour and stopped all commenting on blogs and articles related to Rochdale. It’s not as if they made a secret of their reasons when challenged (it creates a toxic atmosphere and puts sane people off the site). He seems to think that because a bunch of papers that pre-moderate their comments allowed comment then a paper that post-moderates should do the same. So he got cross about it, for no discernible reason.
Here’s a thought, for everyone, why not get angry about real injustice and suffering rather than making some up to get annoyed about?

So I was wrong on the shotgun wedding idea, but still not racist. “Oh but it’s Dorries” you cry. Are you sure? Isn’t it you?
