Granny Tax

23 Mar

What is George Osborne thinking?  I know the Tories are supposed to be concerned about Broken Britain but penalising people who have managed to hang on to their female grandparents goes against this very idea.  What about people whose parents have split, remarried and remained close?  They may have step grandparents as well and will be worse affected.  This is a retrograde step and it should not stand.

You’re trying to put a brave face on it, but early post-budget polling puts Labour ahead by 8 points. They obviously think they can get away with screwing their core demographic mid-cycle. We’ll see.

To be honest, I don’t really care. I’m not taxable in the UK, and wouldn’t be unaffected anyway as all my grandparents have passed.

Clearly I thought up a rather stupid and obvious joke and used it to hitch a ride on a current issue to whore for hits on my blog. It’s rather shameful really.
